School bus crush in China killed 15 children

According to the officials fifteen children have been died in eastern Jiangsu province in a bus crush. The tragedy happened when the school bus de-tracked into a irrigation ditch. Most of the children died due the ditch water over turned the bus.

Few days before the incident Chinese authority issued the measures to guarantee safety of children, including compulsory precautionary measurements  for buses and their drivers. The accident happened as 30 students were driven from school in Feng county. Officials say, the bus driver has been taken into custody. The driver told he was trying to prevent a possible collision of his vehicle with motorised rickshaw and hence lost control over the bus.

People working nearby factory heard cries and rushed to the bus to help the children. Many of the children were stuck at bottom of the overturned school bus, though the water was not very deep, may be a meter or so but it proved deadly for the children trapped at the bottom. The factory owner's wife Zhang told the press that they have tried hard to save the children and broken one of the window of turned over bus to pull the children out. According to Zhang it was freezing cold. The children aged from 6 to 14 and eight of them were injured.
