Mr. Kim already had a stroke in 2008 and was out from public views for several months. Pyongyang described his son Kim Jong-un as the "great successor" and urged North Koreans to unite behind him. "All party associates, army men and the community should consistently adhere to the authority of comrade Kim Jong-un and secure and further enhance the specific entrance of the party, army and the community," South Korea's state-run announcement organization, KCNA, said.
Kim Jong-un, who is imagined to be in his overdue 20s, was called as his father's successor just over a season ago. A funeral for Kim Jong-il will be held in the capital Pyongyang on 28 November and Kim Jong-un will head the funeral panel, KCNA reviews.
